Amokachi: I respect Oliseh he knows much about football

Former Super Eagles coach, Daniel Amokachi, has revealed his admiration for a former teammate in the national team, Sunday Oliseh, saying he is a man with a bundle of knowledge about football.

Speaking on a Sports Radio 88.9fm peogramme, Amokachi appreciated Oliseh’s gift as a player and football manager, saying that the former Super Eagles skipper still has a lot to offer his generation if allowed to do so.

“I respect Oliseh, the guy knows a lot about football. He is a bundle of talent but he was not given enough time when he was with the national team. His stay was very short and there’s nothing he could do with that and he left the stage”, he said.

According to Amikachi, he is still ‘very much in touch with his former teammates, especially the Super Eagles set of 1994 FIFA World Cup to the United States.

“Yes. We are still together apart from those that are already late like Stephen Keshi, Uche Okafor, Rashidi Yekini, Thompson Oliha, and Wilfred Agbonavbare. Recently. I was in a conference call with Oliseh and Austin Jay Jay Okocha laughing and talking about some issues relating to football”, he said.

“We still talked about what we can do to contribute to the growth of football in Nigeria and beyond. We shared business ideas and other things with ourselves”, Amokachi said.
