Nff turn prayer warriors as recuperating Uzoho celebrates birthday

Recuperating Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho turned 21 today  with Nigeria football Federation (Nff) wishing him top of the day while intensifying prayers for his speedy recovery.

Though celebrating while nursing injury is viewed as mixed fortune in some quarters, it is nonetheless an indication that the hands of the clock cannot be held down by any event.

“Happy birthday @NGSuperEagles shot stopper, @UzohofHave a good one and we wish you speedy recovery “the Glass House dished out early today.

Uzoho was stretchered off in the 62nd minute after he landed awkwardly while trying to contest for the ball inside his area in the October 13 friendly match between Nigeria and Brazil that ended one goal apiece in Singapore.

The Deportivo La Coruña safe hand currently on loan to Cyprus side AC Omonia was later diagnosed to have ruptured ligament and will be sidelined for a long term.

Omonia apparently sympathetic to their goalkeeper,  also joined in prayers for his speedy recovery, saying, “Rapid recovery and return to action Francis! The Omonia  family are by your side.”

Maduka Okoye who had the opportunity of making his debut for the Super Eagles following Uzoho’s injury, is equally intensifying prayers for the number one goalie while noting that his debut though worth celebrating, is a call for more hard work.
