Angry Liverpool fans wants klopp out Gerrrard in at Anfield

A furious Liverpool fan has demanded Jurgen Klopp’s exit from Anfield and wants Steven Gerrard brought in to replace him as manager.

Klopp’s Reds are struggling in 2021, with a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City coming on the back of a 1-0 loss to Brighton.

Most fans believe this is in large part to a defensive injury crisis – and Klopp has a world of credit in the bank after reviving the club’s fortunes. But one Liverpool supporter phoned talkSPORT and likened the current slump to the end of Brendan Rodgers’ reign.

“I want Jurgen Klopp to leave,” stated the Liverpool fan live on the radio. “Listen to my reasons: do you remember when, with Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool lost 6-1 away to Stoke City?

“Now, Liverpool this season, have had two terrible defeats: the 7-2 to Aston Villa and now this 4-1 to Manchester City. And they even lost to Brighton and Burnley at home.

“This is a crisis but I don’t think Jurgen Klopp can solve it.”

When it was pointed out by the incredulous radio hosts that Klopp was dealing with long-term injuries to his three, first-choice centre-backs, the fan claimed he waited too long to bring in defensive cover.

“Why did Jurgen Klopp not think: what might happen if [Virgil] van Dijk gets injured? He should have brought in defenders on 1 January,” he said.

Thankfully, the caller – David – had a ready-made solution to the Klopp-shaped hole he’s just created at Anfield. Namely, bring in Liverpool legend Gerrard, who this season has led Rangers to a 21-point lead over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

“Gerrard will get some mentality back into the team,” he explained. “Gerrard is a leader. We haven’t got a leader at the moment.

When that was pushed back, with the hosts – including Manchester United legend Andy Cole – calling Henderson one of the best captains in the Premier League, David replied:

“If he’s the best leader in the Premier League, God help us. Look at Liverpool’s results against the bottom six clubs this season. It’s appalling!
