Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury agree terms for two-fight deal
Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have reached an agreement over a two-fight deal, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.
The British heavyweights currently hold all the belts in the heavyweight division, with one of them on course to unify the heavyweight league.
While both have hurdles to overcome, with Joshua still to face Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev and Fury set for a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, the pair have provisionally agreed to enter the ring together for the ultimate all-British heavyweight showdown.
‘We’re making great progress,’ Hearn told Sky Sports News.
‘There is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates.
‘We have the Dillian Whyte mandatory which is due before this fight.
‘It’s fair to say [Joshua and Fury] are in agreement regarding the financial terms of the fight.
‘We’ve been talking to [Fury’s management team] MTK, giving them the assurances from Joshua’s side that all the details on the structure of the deal is approved from our side. And it is from Fury’s side, as well.
‘We’re in a good place. It’s fair to say that, in principle, both guys have agreed to that fight. Two fights.
‘A lot to overcome in the meantime. We’re moving in the right direction. I’m confident that both guys have giving their blessing for the fight to go ahead.’
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren had previously suggested the fight would be a 50-50 split, while insisting his fighter would come out on top.
‘It’s not a difficult fight to make. Whatever is on the table is 50-50,’ Warren told Sky Sports.
‘Fury is the No. 1 heavyweight but we don’t say 60-40. 50-50 down the middle.

‘Fury? I know I speak on his behalf – he wants the fight. More than anything, he wants the fight.
‘All day long, Tyson Fury beats AJ. I had this conversation 18 months ago when Tyson came back. It’s not an issue. This is the fight he wants.’
