Argentina hosts Nicaragua on May 29

Argentina, Super Eagles 2018 FIFA World Cup opponent, will face Nicaragua on May 29 in a farewell match before jetting out to Russia.

According to mundoalbiceleste.com, the game will be played at La Bombonera, the home of Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires.

The last time Argentina played at La Bombonera was on October 17 against Peru which ended 0-0.

Argentina had mixed results in the just concluded FIFA international break where they faced Spain and Italy.

They defeated Italy 2-0 in their first friendly game at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England.

But few days later, they were hammered 6-1 by Spain in their second warm-up game at the Wanda Metropolitano, home ground of Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona star forward Lionel Messi missed both friendlies due to injury.

The two-time FIFA World Cup winners are in Group D with Nigeria, Croatia and debutant Iceland at this year’s World Cup.
