Aribo scores as Rangers hammer Dundee United 4-1

 

Super Eagles ace Joe Aribo scored a 48th minute goal to increase the tally for the day as Rangers put four goals past Dundee United on Sunday.  Sunday’s victory is not just one of those victories for the Steven Gerrrard led side but guarantee a Champions League spot .

Steven Gerrard’s four changes from the side that beat Royal Antwerp 4-3 in Thursday’s Europa League match proved to effective as his men cruised past Dundee with a 4-1 win.

Ianis Hagi finished off Joe Aribo’s shot in the 35th minute for their first, before Ryan Kent’s shot deflected past Benjamin Siegrist just three minutes later for their second.

Aribo went on to gain a place on the scoresheet after scoring the club’s third of the game.

However it was Alfredo Morelos who found the net in the 64th minute to secure their fourth and close out the game. Marc McNutty did manage to claim a consolation for the visitors in the 86th minute.

Nevertheless, Rangers need just three more wins to secure the 2020-2021 Championship title.  Aribo has continued to prove himself in Rangers quest to aim for the title on one hand and remain a dominant force in the Scottish premier league on the other.

Compatriot Leon Balogun was equally in super form on Sunday as he stood his ground with his teammates to ensure that Dundee United were put in check from start to finish.
