Arsenal boss Arteta plans raft of late summer sales

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, is planning several major sales late in the summer market.

Joe Willock to Newcastle for £22m was the only major departure, with David Luiz released and William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi joining Marseille and Konstantinos Mavropanos joining Stuttgart on loan deals.

Arteta said: “There’s still 11 days to go and there’s still things to be done. There are still players in the squad where it’s going to be difficult for them to find game time.

“It does (bring pressure). We will see what we will finish. We’re gonna have I think seven players have left the club and five are coming in so it’s not more players coming in. We’re going to do it in the right way so that we are stable.”

Willian, Eddie Nketiah, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Lucas Torreira, Reiss Nelson and Sead Kolasinac are reportedly the players in question, with difficulty expected in selling Willian, with two years left on the 32-year-old’s gargantuan £200,000-a-week deal.
