Arsenal boss Arteta: Uncertainty hurting transfer plans

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal need stability to assist their market plans this summer.

Arteta said the club have planned for a number of different scenarios this summer.

“Uncertainty has probably been the most common thing since I Joined and with all the things that have happened,” he said. “I just want, I just need a good pre-season with a fair squad, after a good transfer window, with our fans in the stadium and give it a real go and see how we can compete.

“This is what the team needs. A bit of stability from top to bottom and normal circumstances to put the work that we want to put in place, and then evaluate what we can do.”

When asked about Arsenal’s summer transfer plans and the long-term futures of on-loan midfielders Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos, Arteta added: “Our obligation is to plan ahead, to have different scenarios and we are all doing that with every member of the club and every player because we need to know where we are heading and with who.”
