Arsenal Players’ Wages For this Season: Iwobi among lowest earners

Alex Iwobi maybe one of the favourite players for new Arsenal manager Unai Emery but he is certainly one of the lowest earners for the North London side this season, according to Spotrac via Sportbible.com.

The 22-year-old has made 19 premier league appearances from 22 matches, starting 13 and scoring twice – he was involved for 90minutes as the Gunners fell 2-1 against West Ham United in the London Derby played on Saturday.

However, the Super Eagles midfield gem underwhelmingly earns below some inactive Arsenal players and benchwarmers at the club with his £30,000 weekly wages. Aaron Ramsey who has made just eight starts this season and desperate to leave the club earns £110,000 a week.

Interestingly, injury prone Danny Welbeck with just one start from his eight premier league appearances this season earns £70,000 weekly while Henrikh Mkhitaryan who has made just one more league appearance than Iwobi earns a whopping £180,000 per-week.

But the shocker for a lot Gunners fans will be Bosnian left wing-back Sead Kolasinac, who earns a whopping £120,000 weekly while the highest paid Arsenal player is out-of-favour German midfielder Mesut Ozil with £350,000 weekly and followed by former African footballer of the year and current club topscorer,
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with £200,000 per-week.

If Iwobi continues to produce his best form under Emery, his representatives may need to renegotiate his contract and get him an improved deal despite just signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal that ties him to the North London club until 2022.
