Arsenal set to complete €60m deal for Zubimendi
Arsenal are on the verge of completing their first signing of the new season, as they prepare to activate the €60 million release clause of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Gunners have reached an agreement to sign the 26-year-old from Real Sociedad.
“Arsenal agree deal to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, here we go!” Romano tweeted on Saturday.
“Zubimendi has now verbally agreed to sign a long term deal… so formal steps must follow soon with Arsenal to trigger €60m clause.

“Zubi, ready to become the first signing of the new season.”
Zubimendi is expected to be Mikel Arteta’s first addition this summer as Arsenal aim to strengthen their squad following a disappointing end to the current campaign, where they fell short in both the Premier League and Champions League.
With less than three matches remaining, the Gunners are fighting to secure a second-place finish.
