Mikel Arteta said Kieran Tierney has an outside chance of featuring against Benfica in the Europa League.
The Arsenal left-back has been missing from the squad over the past few weeks with a leg injury but is hoping to resume training over the next few days.
However, as football.London revealed on Friday it’s expected that Thomas Partey will be out for up to two weeks with a hamstring injury.
Arteta confirmed in his post-match press conference after the 4-2 win over Leeds that Scotland defender Tierney is more likely to feature than the Ghanaian midfielder.
“It seems unlucky at the moment but if there is probably one player who has the bigger chance [to play] it’s Kieran.
“Probably in the next few days he can start to do some parts with the team but I don’t know how it’s going to evolve until he gets a little bit closer to training with the group.”
Partey has had a stop-start beginning to his Arsenal career since arriving from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day in October.
