Asamoah: ‘I feel like I’m at home’

Kwadwo Asamoah has thanked Cagliari for ‘the opportunity’ and vowed to help the Casteddu ‘overcome a difficult time’.

The former Inter and Juventus winger has moved to Sardinia as a free agent and the 32-year-old thanked everyone at the Casteddu.

“I’m happy to be here in Cagliari,” he said at a press conference. “I thank everyone who gave me the opportunity to make this choice.

“Cagliari are a great team and I’m happy to have had the opportunity to come here to play.

“The team are well structured, there are both experienced and young players.”

Asamoah has played 270 Serie A games during his time in Italy, including 134 games for Udinese between 2008 and 2012.

“I will be able to lend a great hand, because in my opinion we lack nothing to do well,” he continued. “We are going through a difficult time but we will overcome it together.

“I can play in many positions, but the coach will decide. I’m ready to give my best for the team and the city, that’s what I know how to do.

“In Serie A, you must stay positive and always give 100 per cent.”

The former Ghana international has signed a deal until the end of the campaign and said his reception was ‘incredible’.
