Atletico Madrid want Arsenal’s Bellerin, Celtic chase Celtic Hjelde

Atletico Madrid are  contemplating whether to make an approach for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.

Having spent the majority of his professional career representing the Gunners, the 26-year-old is said to be open to a new challenge.

A number of clubs around Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain and Real Betis, have been linked with a move for the Spaniard.

However, according to Marca, Atletico will join the race for the right-back if they part ways with Kieran Trippier or Sime Vrsaljko this summer.

While the La Liga champions would prefer to retain the services of Trippier, the Englishman allegedly has little interest in extending his contract past the end of next season.

Celtic’s Leo Hjelde on Leeds radar

A situation could realistically materialise where Bellerin replaces Trippier with Atletico making a small profit.

Elsewhere Premier League side Leeds have identified Celtic youngster Leo Hjelde as a potential summer signing.

The Yorkshire giants are expected to make a number of first-team additions over the coming weeks after their impressive first season back in the Premier League.

The report says that Leeds are keen to take advantage of 17-year-old Hjelde having just 12 months remaining on his contract at Celtic Park.

Despite his age, the Norwegian made 11 appearances on loan at Ross County last season, featuring in important wins over Dundee United and Hamilton Academical in May.
