Prayer worrier Falconets hopeful of Victory against Spain

Nigeria moved  up in Group B with three points after the Super Falcon on Wednesday defeated the Shepolopolo of Zamabia in their second group match by 4 goals to nil in the ongoing Africa Women Cup of Nation in Ghana.

Desire Oparanozie enjoyed a timely assist from Francisca Ordega to register Nigeria’s first goal of the tournament and a first half lead in the match.

Minutes after the second half resumed which saw Josephine Chukwunonye being brought in to replace Faith Ikidi, Francisca Ordega who was rated the Most Valuable Player (MVP) net a shot from the centre of the box to the top right corner at the 69th minute to give Nigeria the second goal lead.

The match which was action packed  however saw three goal begging chances missed by  Assisat Oshoala.

Rasheedat Ajibade who replaced Ugochi Desire Oparanozie increased the tempo and the tally with a breath taking  shot to make it three at the 75th minute.

Just about the tick off of the added four minute, Amarachi Okoronkwo (Nigeria) made a long range shot from the right side of the box to the centre of the goal assisted by Josephine Chukwunonye following a corner kick to put the eight times African Champion in a vintage position for the quarter final.

To eventually qualify for the quarter final of the tournament the Falcons have to secure the much coveted three points in their next match against Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, while the Shepolopolo face South Africa on the same day.

The group’s top two teams will advance to the semi-finals.
