AWCON final: Falcons capable of defending title- Rohr

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has tipped the Super Falcons to beat high flying South Africa in Saturday’s final of the ongoing Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana.

The Franco-German Coach who spoke glowingly about the South African national football women’s team, the Bayana Bayana believed that the Super Falcons still possess better players and experience to win the AWCON.

Rohr who led the Super Eagles to Russia 2018 World Cup was particularly excited about the team’s qualification for France 2019 Women’s World Cup. He confessed that the women’s edition of the World Cup would be interesting with Nigeria being among the competing teams in the finals.

“We are happy about the qualification of our girls. They had a good outing in the semi-final match today (Tuesday) So the World Cup in France next year will be interesting.

“Now there is a title to defend and they can do it again”, Rohr disclosed to Sportlife.ng.

The Eagles Coach couldn’t confirm joining the team in Ghana for the final but believed the head Coach was capable to lead the team to victory in the final against dreaded Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

“It’s not sure yet if I can come to Ghana. Falcons coach knows better his team than me. They have all the support from me and my staff. Big solidarity to Asisat (Oshoala) and her team mates”, the Eagles handler disclosed.
