Awoniyi to spend night in hospital after suffering concussion
Doctors will observe Nigeria international and Mainz striker, Taiwo Awoniyi just for one night as part of precautionary measures after he suffered concussion in Sunday’s home game against Augsburg.
“Our striker Taiwo #Awoniyi suffered a concussion in his collision with @FCA_World’s Felix #Uduokhai and is spending the night in hospital as a precautionary measure.
Get well soon, Taiwo!,”reads a tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle.
He was rushed to to the hospital following a clash of heads with Felix Uduokhai in the first half.

The 23-year-old who has featured in 12 matches this season was replaced by Nigerian-born Austrian international Karim Onisiwo.
