Bah: Exit of Egypt won’t affect revenues—Abdel Bah

As part of the series of press conferences on the sidelines of the Total Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2019, CAF Marketing and TV Director Abdelmoneim Bah took his turn.

On the agenda of the press conference was the impact of the early elimination of the host country on the revenues, problems the problem of piracy and the concept of Fan ID.

Bah affirmed that the exit of Egypt will have no impact on the revenue flow of the competition. The Pharaohs lost 1-0 to South Africa at the Round of 16.

The exit of Egypt will have no direct impact on CAF revenues. These are related to the marketing rights and TV rights contract that was signed before the competition. Surely, it will have an impact on the audience.

On attendance at matches, Bah cited the cost of traveling around the continent amongst others as one of the major factors that hinder traveling fans.
