Balogun banks on new boots to stop Messi

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun has been equipped to stop top strikers such as Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic when hostilities begin in Group D at the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia after taking delivery of new Energy Mode X18+ speed boots from renowned kit manufacturer, adidas, reports Sportinglife.ng.

The  Brighton and Hove Albion new signing, who is expected to test-run the new boots when the Super Eagles take on the Three Lions of England in an international friendly at the Wembley Stadium this evening, displayed his new arrival on his official Twitter account with the caption, “Unleash speed with the new lightweight Energy Mode #X18 @adidasfootball #HereToCreate #CreatedWithAdidas.”

The boots worn by Mo Salah in the Champions League final will also be worn by some of the world’s top players such as Spain’s Diego Costa, Barcelona and Uruguay forward Luis Suarez, Germany’s Thomas Muller, Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus and Korea’s Heung Min Son at the World Cup in Russia.

According to adidas, the Energy Mode X18+ is designed with new innovations to provide stability and support at high speed. A laceless upper locks-down the mid-foot during high speed moments, while a new outsole is engineered for lightweight movement.
