Balogun excited to end 2018 with Everton win

Brighton defender, Leon Balogun has expressed his delight for ending the year on a winning note after Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Everton, despite not playing a part.

Balogun was not fielded for the game which was Brighton’s first clean sheet in 10 games, having stood in for suspended Lewis Dunk who was returning from a three match ban.

That notwithstanding, the Nigeria international who is in his first season in England,  took to Twitter to celebrate the feat while appreciating fans and the club for the massive support he has enjoyed in his first six months.

“Great way to finish the year at home with the 3! And what a massive result this is! Thanks for your amazing support so far and for making my first 6 months @OfficialBHAFC so special.
I’ll see you in 2019 – be good.”

Brighton defeated Everton at home to end their winless streak after four matches which was a week 20 fixture of the English Premier League

With the conclusion of the first half of the season, Brighton are now 13th on the league table from 20 matches with 25 points. They face West Ham on Thursday.
