Balogun, Iwobi undergo dope test 

 

The duo of Nigerian players, Alex Iwobi and late substitute, Leon Balogun were subjected to dope test after Nigeria’s 2-1 defeat of South Africa on Wednesday.

The tests were mandatory as two other players from the defeated South African sides were randomly picked.

Just like it happened to Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem, the two players did not travel with the team to the hotel after the match and were made to face the tournament Anti-doping agency.

The match which ended at about 11 pm Egyptian time made the duo to stay late till early hours of Thursday Since the process takes some hours to be completed, the affected players were not part of the post-match celebrations.

Unlike the World Cup, the Africa Cup of Nations has not recorded any incident of positive dope test.
