Barca lacks intensity to thrive in Europe says Muller

Bayern Munich ace Thomas Muller says embattled Barcelona lack intensity to thrive in contempory European football. He made the submission just hours after the La liga giants crashed out of the Champions League after

a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich Wednesday night.

“I don’t think Barca can handle the intensity,” Muller told DAZN.

“Technically they have it all, tactically and technically they are great players.

‘But they can’t handle the intensity in top football.

Barcelona has declined steadily in recent seasons, but Wednesday night’s result marked another low for the club, which was hit by financial difficulties, with debts crossing the £1bn mark earlier this year.

Although Xavi has stepped in to try and remedy the free fall, some say it cannot be achieved in a jiffy. On the field of play the exit of veteran of the club Lionel Messi some say equally contributed to the down turn.

Strikes by Muller, Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala sent Xavi’s struggling Catalans out of the competition and into the Europa League the first time they’ve failed to reach the knockout stage since 2000-01.
