According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Barcelona now know how much they will need to shell out in order to secure the services of Robin Gosens. Gosens enjoyed a memorable 2020/21 campaign with Atalanta, wherein he played a major role in their top-four finish. His own tally was quite impressive as he produced a tally of 12 goals and eight assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. And at UEFA Euro 2020, he is starting to become a pivotal figure for Germany.

While he has impressed in both the games so far, Gosens was particularly brilliant against Portugal as he almost singlehandedly earned Germany the win. The defender’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona among the clubs keen on signing him.

The interest from Barcelona makes a great deal of sense, with Jordi Alba already on the wrong side of 30 and even linked with a possible summer exit. With Junior Firpo destined to leave, it is rather imperative for Barcelona to sign a left-back this summer, with Gosens one of the options on their shortlist.

The Blaugrana have, in fact, made an approach to take their first steps to land Gosens. With Ronald Koeman utilising a 3-5-2 formation the most last season, the German international could be a natural fit in the first-team setup as things stand. Barcelona have now been told how much they will need to pay to secure his services.

As per the report, Atalanta want €35 million to part ways with Gosens, and it will be interesting to see if the Catalan giants are open to forking out such a sum amid financial issues at the club. However, with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Inter Milan all keen on signing him, Barcelona will need to make a decision quickly.

For now, what appears to be certain is that Gosens features prominently on Barcelona’s transfer wishlist heading into the summer transfer window. And it remains to be seen if the La Liga heavyweights do end up pulling the trigger by meeting the German international’s €35 million valuation this summer.
