Basketball crisis deepens with President Buhari’s latest approval

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the withdrawal of Nigeria from all International basketball competitions for a period of two years, with immediate effect.

This is due to the unending crisis that have crippled the development of the sort in Nigeria in the past few years.

The withdrawal is in order to concentrate efforts by the Government towards revamping the sport from the grassroots as well as domestic leagues which have become moribund.

Accordingly, Government intends to utilize this period of the break to address all contentious issues among stakeholders.
