Beach Soccer AFCON 2018: Sand Eagles beat Libya 6-3 to secure first win

Nigeria’s Sand Eagles on Sunday recorded their first win at the ongoing 2018 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Nigeria side coached by Audu Ejor who had earlier lost to Senegal in their opening match defeated Libya 6-3 to bounce back.

A brace each from Emeka Ogbonna, Abu Azeez,  Emmanuel Ohwoferia and Suleiman Ogodo who both scored one each gave Nigeria the victory.

With the victory, Nigeria are second in Group B with a better goal difference over Libya who have the same number of points.

The Super Sand Eagles will on Monday tackle Tanzania in their last group match which starts at 1.30pm Nigerian time.

Senegal are topping the group with six points after spanking Tanzania 12-2 to move top of the group. They face Libya in their next game.

The 2018 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt serves as a qualification to the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay.
