Beach W/Cup: Supersand eagles in formality clash against Brazil

 

Embattled Supersand Eagles will finally bring their campaign at the ongoing FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to a close on Tuesday when they take on 14-time champions Brazil in a formality match.

The Coach Audu Adamu tutored side suffered back to back defeats in the hands of Portugal and Oman to exit the completion with no points in the kitty.  Nigeria is the only country in the group with no points going into the last group match.

Runner away group leaders Brazil are already on six points followed by Portugal on three points with better goal margin over Oman who are equally on three points. Portugal lost narrowly to Brazil are tipped to progress in the group alongside Brazil after their match against Oman on Tuesday.

While the Nigerian lads are busy packing their bags however, same cannot be said of the second African representatives Senegal who moved closer to knock out stage after beating Belarus 7-2 on Sunday.

The West African neighbours like Nigeria had lost their first match 8-7 to Russia in the opener but bounced back in the second to pip Belarus and pocket three points.

Super Sand Eagles crashed out of the competition on Sunday after losing to Oman

The Senegalese currently lead the group with three points with superior goal margin with every other team on three points.

They stand a good chance of progressing if they can subdue United Arab Emirates in the last group match on Tuesday.

The Nigerian side many say will have to return to the drawing board to re-shape with a view to putting up a better performance at the next edition if they qualify.

The year most soccer fans who spoke to Sportinglife.ng say has been a basket of woes for Nigeria with the Nations teams recording poor run left right and centre.

The U-17 side failed to fly in Poland; U-23 lost out in the Olympic ticket chase just like the Super Falcons equally missed the Olympics.
