Beckham best man as dad Ted marries millionaire solicitor

David Beckham took on the role of best man at his dad 73-year-old Ted’s glamorous wedding ceremony as he tied the knot with millionaire solicitor Hilary Meredith.

Manchester United legend Beckham did not attend on his own, the iconic number seven and Old Trafford fan favourite accompanied by his fashion titan wife Victoria and three of their four children.

The family made their way to the ceremony – held at the historic Temple, part of central London’s law district, in a series of blacked-out cars on Saturday afternoon.

David’s sister Louise was also present, arriving just before Romeo – son of the former England skipper, who brought his girlfriend Mia Regan.

A source told the Sun : “It was a very small private affair with just a handful of close family and friends, including David, Victoria and three of the children.

“David was best man and did all the usual things the best man does like hold the rings and he was due to give a speech as well.

“Ted is in his 70s and Hilary is in her 60s. It was the second wedding for both of them so they didn’t want to make a fuss of it but the whole family was delighted to be there.”

After calling time on his playing career eight years ago following a successful loan spell with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, in which the entirety of Beckham’s wages were donated to a local children charity, he turned himself into somewhat of a fashion icon.

As a result, significant attention is often paid to what he is wearing, the 46-year-old donning a dark suit with a white flower in the lapel for his father’s big day.

Daughter Harper and youngest son Cruz were also present, though eldest son Brooklyn spends the majority of his time residing in the United States.
