Below par performance’: UFC commentator Joe Rogan slams Amanda Nunes

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has criticized former bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes for a tired performance during her shocking defeat to Julianna Pena at UFC 269.

On Saturday, Pena caused one of the biggest upsets in UFC history when she subjected Nunes to defeat to become the new women’s bantamweight champion.

Nunes quickly tapped out on the second lap when Pena ran the choke and Rogan claimed it was unforgivable that the lioness was so tired so early in the game.

Rogan, who commented on the cage in Las Vegas, was highly critical of Nunes when he broke off the fight on “The Joe Rogan Experience” with Marlon “Chito” Vera.

“She tried to get her out quickly and when Julianna was still there you could tell she was damn tired,” he said via Sportskeeda.

“To be a world champion in two divisions and be universally recognized as the greatest female fighter of all time – which is Amanda Nunes – it’s [inexcusable] to be so tired in the second round.

‘Just stand in front of her. Just wave for her, no side to side movement. Standing right in front of her like watching a regional fight.”

Rogan joked that he was about to “have a heart attack” when Pena shattered the odds of becoming the new ruler of the women’s 135-pound division.

After the fight, he took to Instagram to congratulate the champion, writing: “I’ve seen a lot of fights, but that might be the wildest moment I’ve ever experienced watching martial arts.
