Benin Republic friendly is FAKE–NFF

The proposed international friendly widely published in the international media last week has been described as fake news by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ademola Olajire in a terse statement sent to Sportinglife.ng on Monday evening.

Super Eagles’ Ali Rabiu (10) vies with a Squirrels of Benin Republic opponent during their qualifying match in Kano on Saturday (19/8/17). Eagles won 2-0 to qualify for the 2018 Championship of African Nations (CHAN).

Last week’s fake news of a likely friendly against Benin Republic stated that the Beninoise were chosen by the NFF as replacement to Ghana’s Black stars, but which was cancelled by the Ghana Football Federation (GFF) chieftains who opted to parade the Black Stars against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Olajire’s terse message Monday read: ”No bro. Just allow the speculators dance themselves lame before the music starts. We are searching for another country but the opposition will be revealed in a few days.”
