Benzema reveals what Ronaldo said to him after the match
The spoils were shared between Portugal and France in their last match of Group F. In an exciting affair, both teams qualified for the last 16, although the French had already secured this before the match. After the encounter, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo met up on the pitch and could be seen having a friendly chat.
The Frenchman later spoke about their conversation in front of the media: “It’s good to see him again, we spent a long time together… We played at Real Madrid for eight, nine years, scoring goals, winning trophies…”

“We chatted, we wished each other the best of luck for the future with our clubs and national teams and, above all, we wished each other to continue enjoying ourselves on the pitch and keep on making the difference”, he added.
Benzema and Ronaldo were the two stars of the match, as both players scored a brace in the Puskas Arena, reflected in the 2-2 scoreline between the two sides.
