Better days will come for Watford -Troost-Ekong

Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong is hopeful relegated Watford will bounce back in a jiffy. The former Udinese ace with his  legion of compatriots, Emmanuel Dennis, Oghene Etebo and  Samuel Kalu fought very hard with their Watford teammates in the course of the season but could not stop the club from going down.

Watford were relegated from the Premier League last week after failing to beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Hornets were 12 points from safety with four games remaining prior to that Saturday’s fixtures, meaning anything less than three points wouldn’t have been enough.

That task became even harder when Wilfried Zaha’s first-half penalty gave Palace the lead. And when Watford defender Hassane Kamara was sent off after the interval, it became mission impossible. Watford failed to find an equaliser – registering just one shot on target – as finished 1-0 to Patrick Vieira’s side.

Ekong still disappointed by failure of the Super Eagles to pick a ticket to the World put that and the disappointment of relegation beside to urge Watford fans and management to continue to believe while thanking them for the support receive in what he called rollercoaster season.

As unforgettable as the promotion was a year ago this will also be a season which bar some special moments will stay with me for all the wrong reasons. We did it before and the Watford I know can do it again next season” he enthused

Ekong will no doubt be putting the hydra-headed disappointments aside to focus on the forthcoming international friendly against Mexico and Ecuador repectively next month.
