Lennox Lewis has dropped a hint that he could follow former opponents Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield into making boxing comebacks, as the 90s heavyweight division returns.
Tyson has caused a lot of excitement this week, posting a video of him training and claiming he wanted to comeback to take part in exhibition matches and there’s already been talk of who he could face.
Holyfield then posted his own video and claimed he was coming back to do exhibition matches in order to raise money for charity, which obviously set off people calling for a third fight between the pair.
And now 54-year-old Lewis has got involved with his own tweet to say he’s back in training and ended it with a cheeky wink emoji.
Former four time heavyweight champ Holyfield won the title for the third time when he beat Tyson in their first fight in 1996, with an eleventh round stoppage.
They fought again less than a year later with the former cruiserweight champion retaining due to the infamous bite in the third round that disqualified ‘Iron Mike.’
Lewis then fought Holyfield in March 1999, to unify their three world titles, and the fight ended in a controversial draw, with most believing the British fighter won.
Later that year the 1988 Olympic champion did have his win, in a unanimous decision, to become the first British undisputed heavyweight world champion.
The trios series of fights ended in 2002 when Lewis beat Tyson with an eighth round stoppage, in his penultimate fight before retiring.
Earlier this week Lewis was asked about if he fought Tyson in his ‘prime,’ something the Brit was criticised for saying he did indeed do.

The 90s, with three men at the top of the sport along with Riddick Bowe, who Lewis never fought, was the last great era of heavyweight boxing until the recent era.
In the past year there has been a renaissance in the blue riband weight division with Tyson Fury’s series against Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua’s fights with Andy Ruiz Jr really reigniting the interest.
