BREAKING! Amuneke joins Egyptian side Misr El-Makasa as head coach

Egyptian side Misr El-Makasa on Thursday appointed former Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Amuneke as head coach following the sack of Ahmed Mido.

Amuneke replaces Mido who was sacked on Wednesday following the team’s 3-1 defeat at the hands Pyramids FC on Tuesday in the Egypt Premier League.

It is a tough one for the former coach of the Tanzania national coach who needs to return the Egyptian side to winning ways.

Makasa who are 15th on the table has not won any of their last 10 league games since their last win on 17 October 2019, a 1-0 victory over Al Masry SC.

Amuneke coached Nigeria’s U17 FIFA World Cup winning team of 2015.

The 49-year-old led to Tanzania to its first Africa Cup of Nations last year since 1980.

He however parted ways with Tanzania mutually after a group stage exit at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
