Breaking: Kidnapped ex-Super Eagles player, Obodo released

Former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo who was kidnapped on Sunday has been freed.

According to sources, the former Udinese of Italy player was released in the early hours of Monday.

It is not clear if any ransom was paid to secure his relase from his captors.

The 36-year-old was buying bananas along the Warri Refinery road in Delta State when he was kidnapped.

This would be the second time the player would be kidnapped with the first being June 9, 2012, on his way to church in Warri.
