Brighton striker Percy Tau close to joining Al Ahly

 

Brighton forward Percy Tau is close to securing a move away from the club.

The South African international may be transferring to Al Ahly in the coming days, per The Argus.

Before their game against Burnley, manager Graham Potter had admitted there was some interest in Tau from abroad.

The 27-year-old was not part of the squad for the Seagulls’ 2-1 win in that game.

Tau will be hoping that he can resurrect his career with regular football at Al Ahly in the coming years.

Al Ahly it will be recalled won the CAF Champions league last season after beating South African side Kaizer Chiefs.

It was the Egyptian side’s 10th African Champions League title achieved when they beat 10-man Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa 3-0 .

The Cairo club have now won double the number of Champions League titles than the next most successful club  their neighbours Zamalek
