Burglars raid Sakho’s house as police begin manhunt

Scotland Yard police are hunting for burglars who broke into the Wimbledon home of Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho carting away valuables put at about half a million pounds.

Sakho, his wife Majda and three children were away from the £7million London mansion when the thieves broke in for their nefarious act.

Sakho was away in preparation for away match against Southampton when the incident occurred. The game ended one apiece .

The shocked French international, who moved to the south London club from Liverpool 2017 and now, earns £100,000 a week, told the Evening Standard : ‘Everything is OK. Me and my wife, we’re OK’.

The Sakhos rented the house from former Arsenal star Nicholas Anelka who ironically was at home in 2014 when the Wimbledon Prowler Asdrit Kapaj also tried to break in.
