Bury every chance you get, Eguavoen tells Eagles

 

With just few hours to their second match against Sudan, Super Eagles Coach Austin Eguavoen has urged the team to aim at converting every chance created.

The Eagles subdued Egypt in their first match contrary to permutations in some quarters. But Eguavoen while giving the boys a pat on the back noted that there were missed chances that would earn the team more goals and more icing on the cake. He charged the team to “play for one another, assist each other and not have a particular player as focal point for goals”

Kelechi Iheanacho’s strike against Pharaohs remains one of the highly talked about goals of the tournament so far. A total of 12 goals were scored in 12 games by 11 players in the first round of matches which produced mainly lone goal victories aside from the opener by hosts Cameroon which recorded three goals.

The second round of matches have however picked up with higher goal margins expected.
