C/Palace join in the chase for Championship winger

Crystal Palace are leading the chase for exciting Bristol City winger Antoine Semenyo according to teamtalk.

Semenyo is seen as  a player with huge potential and Eagles sporting director Dougie Freedman is believed to be a huge fan of the 21-year-old. He has come through the youth system at Ashton Gate and has enjoyed loan stints at the likes of Newport and Sunderland before becoming a regular this season

He was a target for Chelsea in 2019 and they almost finalised a deal for him to join. However, they could not agree terms.

Chelsea had an initial offer worth £1m rejected, with City holding out for £2m, but a deal never materialised.

Now Semenyo is again on the radar of a number of Premier League sides. Newcastle, Brighton, Southampton, West Ham, Sheffield United, Norwich and Watford have all been checking regularly on his progress.

However, it is believed that Palace see him as a perfect fit to their squad. And they think he could make the step in similar fashion to Yannick Bolasie. A winger he has been likened to and he could very well follow in his footsteps.

Palace signed Bolasie from Bristol City in 2012 and went on to become a Premier League star, who the club ended up selling for £25m.

The London-born attacker, who has two goals and fives assists from 37 Championship games, is under contract until 2023.
