CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Presidential rally moves Lobi Stars/Wydad tie to Saturday

The Presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar has forced the postponement of the CAF Champions League Group A tie between Lobi Stars and Moroccan, Wydad Casablanca.

The clash was initially fixed for Friday by 5pm but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has agreed that the game be moved by 24 hours after Lobi Stars wrote to CAF informing the body of the usage of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu for the political rally.

The tie will now hold on Saturday by 2pm with Lobi Stars going all out for a win to reignite their determination to qualify for the quarter final of the competition for the first time in their career.

The vice chairman of Lobi Stars, Mike Idoko who made this disclosure to SportingLife.ng said that the players will not be affected by the change as everything has been done to ensure that they are fine and poised for action ahead of the game.

Lobi Stars are third in Group A with three points behind Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns who also have three points each but are with superior goals difference. ASEC Mimosas who are last in the group are also with three points.
