The Confederation of African Football has given provisional clearance to the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba for the fans to watch the CAF Champions League first round, first leg tie against Al Hilal of Sudan billed
for next weekend.
The People’s Elephant played their last home game in the lucrative African clubs competition against Rahimo of Burkina Faso without their fans after CAF’s failure to allow the fans throng the stadium.
Even though Enyimba beat the Burkinabe 5-0 in Aba to cruise to the next round on 5-1 aggregate the lack of fans at the stadium rubbed off negatively on the result.
The report emanating from the club media department indicated that CAF through the Nigeria Football Federation has given the Enyimba Stadium the all-clear to host the game with the fans in attendance.
The media department called the news a good development and boost ahead of the crucial CAF Champions
League first-round tie. Enyimba will host Al Hilal in Aba on Sunday next week before playing the deciding leg two weeks later in Omdurman.
