Former Super Eagles forward Peter Osaze Odemwingie may have parted ways with the round leather game but his exploits continue to speak for him and bring back sweet memories in the mind of his fans and former clubs alike.
Odemwingie clocked 39 Wednesday and congratulatory messages to mark his birthday poured in from far and wide.
Continental soccer ruling body CAF while hailing the former Locomotive Moscow ace noted that he made over 60 appearances for the Super Eagles while participating in four editions of the flagship Nations cup organised by the body.

Interestingly former Club Lille went back memory lane to recall how Odenwingie put a big smile on the faces of the club’s fans some 13 to 14 years ago in the Champions league campaign when he scored with a bang against AC Milan at the San Siro.
Lille in the 2006/2007 editions of the Champions league beat AC Milan 2-0 at the San Siro to progress to the knockout phase.
On that occasion Goals from Peter Odemwingie and Ivorian international Abdul Keita were enough to do the needed damage.
Lille recalling the scenario took to the social media to wish the Nigerian the best in his moment of celebration.
“Happy Birthday to our San Siro hero, @OdemwingieP Enjoy the celebrations, big man” the club dished out.
Odemiwingie who has since taken to golf as one of his major past times since quitting football in 2018 many of his fans agree, was a delight to watch during his days on the pitch.
The former Bendel Insurance and Stoke City ace played for no fewer than 10 clubs in the course of his career scoring 125 goals in 414 appearances.
He last played for Indonesia club Madura United making 24 appearances for the side with 15 goals to his credit.
