Cagliari announce signing of free agent Kwadwo Asamoah

Serie A side Cagliari Calcio have announced the signing of free agend Kwadwo Asamoah till the end of the season.

The 32-year-old had been without a club since leaving Inter in October last year.

The Ghana international and former Juventus ace started his professional career in Switzerland before moving on-loan to Torino in 2008. A permanent move to Udinese would follow in 2009 before joining Juventus three years later. It was with the Old Lady that Asamoah enjoyed his most successful spell as a player, winning six Serie A titles.

He joined fellow Italian giants Inter in 2018. He made a total of 53 appearances for the Nerazzurri before mutually agreeing to the termination of his contract after finding it increasingly difficult to break into Antonio Conte’s team.

Asamoah prior to settling with Cagliari Calcio had been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, Sampdoria and MLS side Montreal Impact.  Interestingly the move to Cagliari will see him team up with former teammates Radja Nainggolan and Diego Godin. Cagliari are currently 18th on the Serie A log with 15 points in 20 games.
