Cameroon intensifying training for Falconets challenge

 

Cameroon women U20 side are burning the candles on both sides in preparation for World cup qualifier against Falconets of Nigeria next month.

The Coach Ndoumou Mike tutored side are reportedly not leaving no stone  unturned ahead of the two legged encounter with the first leg billed for the Reunification Stadium in Douala and the second leg billed for February 4 in Nigeria.

Coach Ndoumou has 27 players in their CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo. It will be the fourth round qualifier for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica. Cameroon was the first country to qualify for the fourth round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup after Gabon withdrew from the competition.

The U20 Lionesses who have remained unbeaten so far will be hoping to maintain the tempo but are sure to find the Falconets a tough nut to crack. One of the results posted by Cameroon en-route the 4th round was 9-0 hammering of Democratic Republic of Congo where the likes of Ndome Bella showed class.

She and her teammates some however say will need to dig deep if they are to overcome Falconets easily the most successful team in Africa’s U20 competitions.

The Falconets on their part it will be recalled hammered their Central African Republic counterparts 7-0 in Douala en-route the forthcoming fourth round clash.

The Falconets have been runners up at the world cup twice 2010 and 2014 while finishing in the fourth place in the 2012 edition in Japan. Three Africa teams will qualify for the World Cup in Costa Rica.
