Carabao Cup: Ndidi’s Leicester get semi-final foes
Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho’s Leicester City will trade tackle with Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup semi-finals as Manchester United welcome Manchester City in the other two-legged affair.
The Foxes led 2-0 at Everton thanks to James Maddison and Jonny Evans but Tom Davies and Leighton Baines’ late strike forced penalties.
But Kasper Schmeichel was the hero before Jamie Vardy beat former England team-mate, Jordan Pickford, to book City’s place in the last four.
On the other hand, United saw off Colchester 3-0 on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial either side of an own goal.
And the Red Devils take on Manchester rivals City after Pep Guardiola’s side survived a minor scare to beat Oxford United 3-1.
