Carragher: Vardy’s transfer best ever for Leicester City

Jamie Carragher believes Leicester City’s capture of Jamie Vardy can be considered the best transfer in football history given the impact he has made at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes signed the striker for £1m in 2012 when he was playing for Fleetwood Town in the National League’s top flight.

But it proved an incredible investment given the impact Vardy has made in which he helped the club win the Championship title before leading them to the Premier League crown in 2016.

He has scored a remarkable 134 league goals in 293 appearances for the Foxes as well as winning 26 England caps.

And writing in his Telegraph column, Carragher says there can be no better transfer in terms of value and impact.
