Football

The future of former Super Eagles star, Victor Moses looks very bleak at the moment as new Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri is not a fan of the Nigerian.

The 27-year-old was completely snubbed by the Italian when the Blues entertained Championship side, Derby County in the fourth round clash of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Derby who were managed by Chelsea legend, Frank lampard entered the fixture full of confidence after eliminating Manchester United in the previous round but fell behind courtesy an own goal from former Blues rookie, Fikayo Tomori in the fifth minute.

But Jack Marriott pulled the away side level four minutes later to set up a thrilling encounter. Chelsea poured forward in search of the advantage and their pressure paid off when Derby centerback Richard Keogh put the ball into his own net to hand the Blues a 2-1 lead.

Lampard’s boys showed no fear as Martyn Waghorn equalized for The Rams to send the away supporters into wide jubilation but Chelsea had the last laugh in a pulsating first half as Cesc Fabregas scored to make it 3-2 just before the interval.

There were no goals in the second half as Chelsea emerged 3-2 winners. But it remains to be seen if Moses remains at the London club beyond this season or seek a move away from Stamford Bridge in the next transfer window in January.
