Chelsea fans eager to have Icardi at the Stamford Bridge

A number of Chelsea fans can hardly wait to have Inter Milan Star Mauro Icardi at the Stamford Bridge.  The 25 year set the fans into frenzy when he uploaded a picture showing him about to board a private jet to London, and indication that the deal is progressing in style.

Icardi posted on social media and was instantly bombarded with replies from Chelsea fans, desperate for their club to recruit a striker of his elite calibre.

The Argentine, who has a reported £98million release clause in his Inter contract, has been one of a host of names linked with Stamford Bridge in recent months.

Chelsea could be on the hunt for a proven goalscorer when the January transfer window opens, following the continued struggles of £75m man Alvaro Morata.

‘Get yourself to Stamford Bridge now!’ one fan responded to Icardi, while other were equally as forward-speaking.

‘Cobham is in LONDON make IT your PERMANENT home,’ wrote another fan, clearly less than impressed with the attacking situation at Chelsea this season.

Another response was a tad more crypic, writing to Icardi: ‘There is a certain club in London that needs a world class striker like you Mauro.’

Icardi was the hero for Inter recently after scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over rivals Udinese.

Despite the game being finely poised, Icardi had the nerve to pull off an audacious Panenka-style penalty in the late stages of the game to wrap up all three points.

Icardi has hit the back of the net 13 times for his club this season, and was the hero when Inter pulled off a late

Champions League victory over Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham at the San Siro.

The striker’s wife Wanda Nara does not however appear to be in the same boat with the rumoured London move as she  recently fanned the flames when she took to her personal social media accounts to hint of a new deal in Italy.

‘She wrote on Twitter: ‘It 00:30 at night and I am reading the pages of the contract renewal,’ – though nothing was later confirmed by the Italian club.
