Chelsea players split €10m Champions League win bonus equally

Chelsea’s players are set to share a bumper win bonus pool after lifting the Champions League trophy.

The Sunday World says it has emerged that Chelsea’s player will also be celebrating their success with a huge boost to their personal bank accounts, with around €10million expected to be coming their way from a bonus pool built into all their contracts.

There are reports in the UK suggesting Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has boosted the bonus pot with a personal injection of cash, with each Chelsea player in line to receive an equal share of around €250,000 each.

Chelsea have a bonus pool that is based on collective success, with many clubs and agents preferring to place bonus schemes in contracts for individual players.

Yet the Chelsea method means each player receives the same cash bonus for success, with Champions League goal scoring hero Kai Havertz set to benefit to the same amount as unused third choice keeper Willy Caballero.
