Chukwu arrives London, says I still have waist pain

 

Former Nigeria captain, Christian Chukwu is confident that he would return to Nigeria in sound health.

The ex-Eagles coach who captained Nigeria to its first ever Africa Cup of Nations in 1980 is in England to see a cardiologist as well as treat waist pain that defied medical treatment in Nigeria.

 

“It is waist pain and stomach upset that I keep feeling. The doctors in Nigeria have treated the stomach upset and it remains the waist pain, but I am confident that I will come back to Nigeria having regained sound health,” said Chukwu who arrived the Queens Land in the company of wife Lilian Nkeiruka.

He used the opportunity to thank the Nigeria Football Federation for facilitating the trip through the help of Nigeria billionaire, Femi Otedola who picked up the bill.

“I am very happy with the efforts of the Nigeria Football Federation through the President, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick. He has proved that he is truly father of Nigerian Football. I am also grateful for the support and prayers of other Nigerians,” he told thenff.com.

Otedola who is the Chairman of Forte Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola made a personal donation of $50,000.
