Chukwueze gets €100m release clause

 

Nigerian Winger Samuel Chukwueze has agreed to a new improved contract at Villarreal that sees his release clause rise to €100m for the next two years and could be lowered to €80m on the third year.

The 20-year-old contract has now been improved thrice in just over a year from €25m to €65m and now €100m.

Chukwueze was part of the Nigerian squad for Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Egypt. He scored his first senior goal in Nigeria’s 2–1 win over South Africa in the quarter-finals.

Chukwueze WAS nominated for this year’s Kopa Trophy award alongside other top European youngsters. The
Kopa Trophy, which is awarded to the best performing player under the age of 21 was inaugurated last year.

Chukwueze has been revelation for Club and Country since last year, the FIFA U-17 world cup winner helped the Yellow submarine to avoid relegation last season before he was awarded Club’s revelation of the year award.

He was also instrumental in Nigeria’s Bronze winning side at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt and went on to win Nigeria’s young player of the year.
