Chungcheong launches ‘Information Strategy Planning’ for FISU Games

The process of developing an information strategy plan to provide first-class information services to the participants and spectators of the Chungcheong 2027 FISU World University Games (Chungcheong 2027 FISU Games) has officially begun.

The Chungcheong Megacity 2027 Summer World University Games Organising Committee (CHUOC) held a kick-off meeting at its main conference room to establish the Information Strategy Planning. Participants included committee members, advisory board members, and the ICT agency. They shared ideas to create an information vision and strategy plan that would meet the unique needs of the FISU Games.

The Information Strategy Planning is essential for the smooth running and successful completion of the FISU Games. It will include systematic and efficient implementation plans in various ICT areas, such as the development and implementation of the FISU Games’ operating system, communication service support, information management, and security measures.

During the event, the participants stressed the importance of creating a distinctive ICT vision and initiatives for the Chungcheong 2027 FISU Games, formulating a detailed plan, and laying the foundation for an efficient and stable integrated event operating system. Starting with this first meeting, CHUOC aims to finalise the Information Strategy Planning by the end of September.

Lee Chang-seop, Vice President of the Organising Committee, stressed the importance of “establishing an efficient plan to create a truly smart games environment using the latest ICT. CHUOC will continuously develop and expand the necessary information systems and IT infrastructure for event operations based on the results of the Information Strategy Planning.”

Meanwhile, artists from the four cities and provinces of Chungcheong have come together to support the successful hosting of the Chungcheong 2027 FISU Games. On 11 June, CHUOC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the cultural foundations of these regions, pledging to cooperate on various cultural events and promote local culture and arts.

The Daejeon Culture and Arts Foundation (CEO Back Chun Hee), the Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Park Younggoog), the Chungbuk Culture Foundation (Representative Director Kim Kab Soo) and the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Seo Heung Sik) will pool their resources to support the FISU Games. This partnership will produce uniquely Korean cultural and artistic events to highlight the richness of the regional culture.

Vice President Lee expressed his optimism, saying, “We are confident that our local artists will participate wholeheartedly in the ongoing cooperation and play a crucial role in the success of the FISU Games, which will also help to promote Chungcheong’s cultural and tourism assets and bring K-culture to the world stage.”
